This week’s updates bring major improvements across role-based access control, mentor call functionality, document processing, and more. Let’s dig in:

🤖 AI Mentor Platform Enhancements

Expanded Role-Based Access Control (RBAC)

• Mentor chat and session creation respect RBAC enforcement rules, enhancing security and ensuring context-aware access.
• RBAC data controllers were refactored into a shared core service to streamline future reuse across services.

Mentor Call System Overhaul
The call system has been redesigned into a unified runner, enabling:

• Per-mentor call configuration
• Live video and screen sharing
• Support for LiveKit (v1.0.22) with credential-based VideoGrants

Smarter Vector Processing & Auditing

• Batched LLM calls now clean vector results more efficiently
• Original mentor responses are backed up for later evaluation and benchmarking
• Post-processing responses are automatically saved to the chat history

Retraining Flexibility

• A new Django Admin setting allows teams to configure document retrain intervals, giving more control over vector refresh cycles.

Improved Document Handling

• Enhanced scanned PDF support through proper import registration
• Updated TXT file splitting logic for better parsing outcomes

💻 Frontend Experience Updates

SSO Login & Redirect Improvements

• redirect-path is now reliably handled via localStorage across SPAs
• Logout now redirects to a centralized auth endpoint with forced re-authentication
• Storage initialization flows were cleaned up for a more predictable login experience

Mentor SPA Updates

• Updated shared component libraries to ensure consistency across embeds and core interfaces

Flexible Credential Assertions

• New validation ensures items assigned to assertions match the associated credentials
• Pagination support added to assertion serializers

Reusable RBAC Policy Architecture

• Removed rigid UserRole and GroupRole models in favor of many-to-many policies
• Added user/group add/remove options to policy endpoints

Purchase Metadata API

• A new getpurchasejson function enables retrieval of credit details tied to a user’s application usage.
