🚀 ibl.ai Platform Updates | May 16, 2025

This week we launched new AI media capabilities, anonymous mentor chat refinements, SCIM-compliant user provisioning, and improved platform integrations for AWS and Stripe. Here’s what’s new across the stack:

🧠 AI Mentor & Media Enhancements

• AI Video Avatars + Heygen Support: Introduced a new VideoAvatar table and endpoints to upload, manage, and replace AI mentor video prompts. Captions and thumbnail support now available.
• Agent Prompting with Tools: Agents now use a system prefix to prompt tool-aware responses. Tool usage in retrieval chains is enforced to guarantee smarter outputs.
• Public Prompt Access: Suggested prompts can now be retrieved anonymously via the new PublicPromptView endpoint.
• Model & Provider Management: Registered Gemini 2.5, GPT-4.1, and OpenAI O4 models. Deprecated models have been removed to streamline performance and reduce duplication.
• Improved File Handling in Chat: In-chat document and media handling now includes improved processing and size limits for uploads.
• Automated Mentor Seeding: New tenants can be automatically populated with starter mentors using the SEEDMENTORSFORNEWTENANTS flag.

💻 Frontend Upgrades

Mentor SPA

• Anonymous Mentor Improvements: Mentors can now function anonymously without authentication redirects, while preserving key functionality like headers and settings.
• Agent Selector for Templates: Admins can now select from OpenAI, Google, or Base agents directly when assigning a template.
• Subscription-Aware UI: Mentor chatroom now adapts based on user subscription status, with messaging and input logic adjusting accordingly.
• Iframe Safety & UX: Added disclaimers, expanded chat payloads (with edxUsageId and edxCourseId), and implemented new session behavior for embedded mentors.

Analytics SPA

• Updated grade calculation logic and enhanced report export reliability.

🧩 Backend & API Infrastructure

• SCIM v2.0 User Management: Full CRUD support for user provisioning using SCIM. Includes metadata merging for field integrity, department and group linking, soft deletion logic and permission enhancements, and expanded error handling and test coverage.
• Stripe Platform Admin Dashboard: Platform admins can now generate checkout links, manage launch states, and validate eligibility—all through a new Stripe integration flow.
• AWS Marketplace Compatibility: Introduced support for CustomerAWSAccountID for improved backward compatibility and future-proofed ID tracking.
• Credential Assertion Enhancements: Added metadata support to the assertion history API for better insight over time.

⚙️ DevOps & Deployment Enhancements

• Configurable Mentor Seeding: New CLI flag SEED_MENTORS_FOR_NEW_TENANTS allows toggling default mentor creation for new platforms.
• Healthcheck & Monitoring: Expanded CLI-level flags and reverse proxy support to enable more granular 200-response code monitoring and port configuration.
• CELERY Task Events & Prometheus Integration: Celery workers now support task event exports for real-time observability with Prometheus.
