Using keyrings in devcontainers

Hi,

I've been trying to use a vscode extension that requires an unlocked keyring to store credentials, which is fine... except in a dev container!

After some trial and error, I have something that works – https://github.com/jt-nti/dev-container-keyring – but I guess I have a couple of questions...

• is there a better way? (My "solution" seems a tad hacky, so I would definitely be interested if anyone has a nicer alternative.)
• would it be possible to update any of the pre-built dev container images to have working keyrings?

Hi @jt-nti, which keyrings does the extension support? I guess Gnome keyring might add a lot of additional package dependencies to the container.

Hi @chrmarti, yes, it's the Gnome keyring, so it definitely adds some dependencies,– but not that many... https://github.com/jt-nti/dev-container-keyring/blob/main/.devcontainer/Dockerfile#L5-L7
