Difference with other test reporting tools?

Hello,

what would be difference with the Open Test Reporting initiative (Open Test Alliance) backed by JUnit team ? https://github.com/ota4j-team/open-test-reporting

My current understanding : OTP is XML and aimed on Java users.

There are lots of great test reporting tools available. Rather than comparing differences with each one, What is CTRF? describes what CTRF is.

Sure there is a bunch of tools on the table. I don't have much experience with CTRF reports or the OTR format, but the point is : if the community wants to create a "language-agnostic test reporting specification", it looks like a waste of effort when we create an infinite variation of them.

With the real question being : should we develop tools to convert one format to another ? (as today the CTRF landscape includes the JUnit-to-CTRF convertor).
