Magento Modal Alerts and Translations

Hi There,

I am trying to implement the modal popup in my custom js file for Modal alerts and translations as below. But it is not working.

    'jquery',
    'Magento_Ui/js/modal/alert',
    'mage/translate',
    'Magento_Customer/js/customer-data'
], function ($, alerts, $t) {
      function showAlert(message) {
        alerts({
            title: $.mage.__(''),
            modalClass: 'alert-popup',
            content: $.mage.__('<div class="error-content">' + message + '</div>'),
            buttons: [{
                text: $.mage.__('Close'),

                click: function () {
                    this.closeModal(true);
                }

Can you please guide me on above to fix and implement the same in my js file.

also getiing TypeError: $.cookies is undefined.

I don’t know why you are getting error. A code example whould be helpful.
