Terraform module to deploy an AI Foundry with a "Foundry Project"

Hi everyone,

We've build a Terraform module in order to deploy a "Hub-based Project", but unfortunately we don't have a Terraform module to deploy a "Foundry Project".

Is there any guideline or existing Terraform module in order to deploy an AI Foundry with a "Foundry Project"?

Hi @Messatsu92 - the Foundry Project for a Hub-based Project is a Microsoft.MachineLearningServices\workspaces resource with kind:Project. The Azure Verified Module TF resource supports this:

Unfortunately I was looking for a Module TF for the "Foundry Project" into AI Foundry, not the "Hub based Project" that is being deprecated.

Ah right: That is the Microsoft.CognitiveServices/accounts/projects resource. In theory this: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/templates/microsoft.cognitiveservices/accounts/projects?pivots=deployment-language-terraform

The AVM module for this resource doesn't seem to support it yet: https://registry.terraform.io/modules/Azure/avm-res-cognitiveservices-account/azurerm/latest

Thanks for the tag @amynic - happy to pitch in - but yes, the post I put up leverages AzAPI to fill in the gaps until there is an AzureRM - but I can confirm it works!

Following up on a conversation with Guy on this, just wanted to share that we're working on an AVM Terraform Pattern module for AI Foundry based on the account and project setup using the cognitive services resource provider which will cover both basic and standard setup. We're also working on an end-to-end Enterprise Scale AI Landing Zone leveraging AI Foundry. For reference, please see below

@mbilalamjad - any chance you're also (or know if someone is) working on the Bicep AVM changes to support projects, connections etc as well? The same gap is in the Azure Bicep AVM. I've got an issue open on this: Azure/bicep-registry-modules#5390
