When can we expect Attachment-lite for V6 ?

Hello Community,
When can we expect the attachment lite for v6?
The majority of my V5 projects are based on attachment-lite and v5 is slowly going towards a dead end.
If someone can point me in the right direction, I could try to upgrade the package.

Out of curiosity, why not bring it under the hood and raise a merge request?
The code will be better maintained.
