Description of issue

If my memory serves me well, if Homebrew is on a non-default branch, brew doctor warns and gives instructions to revert back.

For example:

updates. If this is a surprise to you, check out the default branch with:

However, in my case it didn't. Is this expected?

Might be related:

% brew developer
Developer mode is enabled because a developer command or `brew developer on` was run.
`brew update` will update to the latest commit on the `main` branch.

I found through git log -S that this feature lasted 6 days, but I could've sworn it was longer.

    why `brew update` isn't pulling in the latest changes (https://github.com/orgs/Homebrew/discussions/4105#discussioncomment-4658869).

I converted it into a "just print Homebrew branch to brew config" PR. brew config runs significantly faster than brew doctor, and being on the "wrong" branch is generally an issue only for developers.
