Hi! My name is Dr. Chris Brown. I'm from Rock Hill, SC. I have prior industry experience as Bank of America as a Python developer, Blackbaud as a Software Quality Engineer Intern, and Red Hat as a Quality Engineering Intern. I am mostly familiar with Python, but also worked with a variety of other languages. My fun fact is I play the drums 🥁 and in 2009 our high school drumline broke the Guiness world record for the longest continuing drum roll (~27 hours). Hoping to provide an engaging and informative class about software engineering this semester!

Hi, my name is Lucas Umberger and I am from King George, VA. I've previously interned as a software engineer with the DOD and MITRE. I am most familiar with Java, Python, and JS. I enjoy playing tennis on my free time as well as watching movies at home. I hope to learn more about the software engineering process and code lifecycle in the professional industry.

Hey! My name is Ben Fielder, and I am from Houston Texas. The only industry experience I have with software engineering was in a mechanical engineering internship, where I did a small amount of scripting in python. I am most familiar with Java, just because most of the cs classes I have taken have been in java, however I also know C, swift, and Matlab. One interesting fact about myself is that I lived in Australia for 6 years. I hope to have a stronger understanding about software engineering principles and understand everything that goes into developing a product.

My fun fact is that I play Magic: The Gathering. I am hoping to learn more about the software engineering process. I look forward to the class!

Hey, my name is Michael Kopczynski. I'm from Charlotte, North Carolina. I don't have any concrete experience, but I'm mostly familiar with Java, C, and I'm starting to get into JavaScript. A fun fact about me is that, controversially, I have never drank orange juice. I'm hoping to learn more about software design and learn to work more efficiently in groups and meet more computer science students!

My previous software engineering experience ranges from interning under a Stanford Alumnus, teaching coding at a company called Code For Fun, and doing an internship for a start-up company called TraceCloud. I am most familiar with Java, but I have knowledge and have used several other languages! A fun fact about me is that I love anything artistic like painting, scrapbooking, crafting, singing, etc! I hope that I can strengthen my skills within software engineering and develop my software skills!

I'm most familiar with Java, but have also used Python and C. A fun fact about myself is that I like to write scripts for movies. Hi, my name is Yoonje Lee. I'm from South Korea. Recently I did an internship in a start up named Versy. There I used Next.js, trpc, prisma, and typescript to develop features and fix bugs. Also I have made a personal website with figma, Next.js and tailwind. I am familiar with Next.js, React, React Native (reactly on a project with this), trpc, and tailwind mostly since I do most of my project with those. A func fact about myself is that I like to crochet, and I already made a hat for winter (excited to wear it then). Even with the personal and group projects, I wanted to learn more on how to plan of developing my own software in a more structural way.

I am familiar with Java, C, a little bit of Python, and React. A fun fact about me is that I used to have diabetes but somehow got rid of it. From this class, I hope to learn more about software engineering practices.

Greetings. My name is Justin Vogel, and I'm from Reston Virginia. Previously, I worked at JHU APL as a software engineering intern, followed by Boeing this prior summer.

Largely I've worked with Java in a hobbyist and academic capacity since high school, then professionally at JHU APL. I've also worked with Typescript web apps (React), Python, C, and Flask.

I hope to learn more about the software development lifecycle beyond what my IB CS courses taught me. A fun fact is that I love the outdoors, and recently processed wild clay from a riverbed.

I was an Independent Contractor for a startup in Ann Arbor, where I got to build systems to handle 12 TB of data. I have some previous software engineering experience from personal projects, projects during hackathons, and my most recent Software Development Engineer Internship at Amazon. In terms of languages, I'm most familiar with Java, Python, C, and Dart, and some other technologies I've used are AWS, Docker, Vercel, and Firebase. A fun fact about me is that I'm currently doing computational biology research that could be useful for speeding up drug discovery! I'd like to learn more about efficient software design processes, ideally those that could even be applied to projects outside of software.
