I moved synadm to Codeberg, so I'll chime in with a few things when migrating:
The easiest part is probably the code repository. The harder part is everything that depends on the repository being at GitHub. The hardest part might be community. Codeberg (Forgejo) has somewhat more flexibility in what's enabled in repos, including ability to disable code and PRs completely, which can be useful for a repo for "discussions" like this here. |

I'm not very knowledgable on the CI / Actions sides, so no comments there. 😅 I did try Codeberg out and moved some of my repos there, and I think it's pretty nice! I do find some UI elements (like the "add files" button or the clone URL) a bit harder to spot compared to GitHub, though, but nothing too hard. If we do move there someday, we probably want to add some screenshots to the documentation to help new contributors navigate the site. 🤔 The only thing I kind of miss is a user-friendly Android app for push notifications on repo updates. There's GitNex, which is free if you download it outside Play Store, but new contributors might not know about that. I also find it a bit clunky and harder to use compared to GitHub's official client. Probably not that big of a barrier, just something some might miss having. |

I would like to start the discussion about moving to Codeberg or something else again. I've tried it in the past, but had some trouble setting it up.
GitHub offers many features that make it super easy to use for noobs like me, so I'm curious what the pro's and cons are of moving, to get an idea if it's worth doing in general.
