OnlyOffice vs Collabora

I've recently switched from Nextcloud to OpenCloud and had a great time setting up OnlyOffice and Jitsi with it. OpenCloud feels noticeably snappier and more responsive compared to Nextcloud, which has been a pleasant surprise.

One thing I found interesting when testing OpenCloud's online demo with Collabora, it felt significantly faster than what I remember from my Nextcloud setup (which I had setup just a month ago). In Nextcloud, I noticed a clear difference in responsiveness, which led me to choose OnlyOffice instead.

Does anyone know why Collabora feels so much faster in OpenCloud? Has anyone else experienced this? If the performance difference is real and not just a quirk of the demo, I might reconsider switching back to Collabora.

All official support and improvements will go into the Collabora integration from our side. So if you're happy with it, I'd hope that you are willing to give it another try. 😇 Also, Collabora has improved a lot recently, so maybe the difference is just based in that.

Wow! Thanks for sharing! Another reason to prefer Collabora over OnlyOffice, mobile editing is paylocked on OnlyOffice too.

In their stable release example 2.0.3 they still have the needed configuration for Onlyoffice mentioned:

I didn't use their opencloud_full stack myself however copying and adjusting their configuration based on my setup worked for me.
