Metrics timeline

In my Python project I'd like to start using experimental metrics. I know there is work in progress. Is there any estimate date when it will be ready? Depending on the answer I would wait for metrics or develop some workaround.

When you say "ready" I'm assuming you mean stable? There is no estimate for stable yet, as we are still waiting for the specs to marked as stable.

No, sorry for imprecise question. I meant prototype ready, tracked by #1835.

I really appreciate your effort and didn't meant to put any pressure on you. I simply needed to make a decision in my project and metrics prototype was one of factors.
