Spring Boot Actuator + Spring Boot Opentelemetry Starter

I try to retrieve the Spring Boot Actuator metrics to my Grafana Cloud dashboard., but I can't see any actuator metrics in the prometheus. Traces and Logs are all good.

I use Spring Boot 3.4.3 and Opentelemetry Spring Boot Starter 2.14.0

My application.properties is the following

Why every time I ask a question, I found the response 5min later, despite I struggle with it at most for 3 hours 🤦‍♂️

Add in application.properties

otel.instrumentation.micrometer.enabled=true

It’s great that you figured it out quickly! The missing piece here was enabling Micrometer instrumentation for OpenTelemetry:

otel.instrumentation.micrometer.enabled=true
This allows Micrometer metrics (used by Spring Boot Actuator) to be properly exported through OpenTelemetry.

1️⃣ Verify Micrometer & Prometheus Dependencies
If you haven't already, ensure your project includes:

2️⃣ Enable Actuator Metrics Export
Make sure Spring Boot exposes the Prometheus metrics endpoint:

After restarting your app, check if the metrics are available at:

Use Grafana Metrics Explorer to check for incoming metric data.
Check logs for any OpenTelemetry exporter errors.
