Open Analytics Extension for the Community!

I’ve published a Neovim analytics extension for CodeCompanion that tracks usage—including GitHub Copilot premium requests, which is especially relevant now that GitHub is charging for overages.

Feel free to use, adapt, or turn this into a proper public repo for the community. I already use it to monitor my Copilot usage and think it could be helpful for others as well. Contributions and improvements are welcome!

I think it deserves to be a proper extension. If you don’t have the time or aren’t maintaining it, I’d be happy to take that on.

Hi! Thank you for volunteering! I would love to support you in any way I can to get this started. I believe it would be an essential plugin for the community. Please proceed; you have my approval and full support! 👍

Things that it should probably support in my opinion are the following:

• allow them to configure more of the functionality, title formatting (query name), etc
• interactive dynamic popup, standardize queries based on the default dimensions (year, month, date, event type possibly). This would enable different views into their defined queries. And it would remove the need for the user to write that logic themselves.
• allow for some cleanup interval ( delete anything older than a year for example )
• document how they can get those query results and display them elsewhere in their nvim and not just the popup, like statusline etc (probably shouldnt be part of extension itself but useful to document ). Similarly alerting or triggering on certain values (monitoring)
• later on down the line, it would be cool to be able to submit a sql query for testing or quick one off checks, and have that automatically inserted into the window
• probably not make snacks requirement

Thanks for the suggestions! I’ll start by making it work as a plugin, with my top priority being to eliminate the need for the three plugins (plenary, snacks, sqlite). After that, I’ll look into how to improve it further using those features.

Awesome, ping me when you get something published! Definitely want to stay up to date. In the mean time, I'll be updating the gist if you ever want to reference something I did recently. Like I just added the daily/weekly/monthly dimension support, retention, and title/row formatting. But I'm sure a full rewrite is needed to remove those deps
