meio occasionally throwing "Could not create cursor" error

@tmcgilchrist reported seeing this error on mac:
```
$ meio _build/default/example/burn.exe
Fatal error: exception Failure("Runtime_events: could not create cursor for specified path.")
```
I've seen this error on olly's CI sometimes. We'll need to dig into the source of this error.
