Default start date or added date

I currently use start date as an added date to sort my items with no due date.

It would be nice to have the start date have an option to default to "today". Either that or have an added date.

Thank you for the idea @AdamBullen. In the meantime, adding today using the task modal is the fastest workaround that I know of that doesn't include other plugins.

However, if you are willing to also use other plugins, you could achieve this behavior with quickadd. As an example, there was a discussion here: #292 (reply in thread)
