Howto show difference between default checkbox vs task ?

Hi,

can someone help me, or point me in the right direction / to a snippet to show different color checkboxes for:

- [ ] normal checkbox <- should be the default color

- [ ] #todo open task checkbox <- some other color like blue

Currently, these look exactly the same.

PS. I’d prefer not changing any of the other task statutes like Done, Cancelled, etc.

No, it's #todo. I never changed it, so i assume that was the default at some point long ago when i installed the plugin?

Are you saying that you only want to apply the colour blue to:

I think i want the second option. But i don't fully understand the difference yet, so whichever is best, also for future changes, will be good :-)

Sorry yes, I meant #todo not #task - I was really meaning to establish whether or not you are using a Global Filter - which I now know that you are.

If I can work out an answer for you in 5 minutes, I will do so.

Snippet

Here is a snippet does what you requested.

The second section is needed to prevent nested non-Tasks items also being shown in blue.

li.plugin-tasks-list-item {
    color: blue !important;
}

li.plugin-tasks-list-item li:not(.plugin-tasks-list-item) {
    color: initial; /* or whatever the default color should be */
}

How I tested it

(This is with a different Global Filter, just because that was the test vault I had to hand...)

Test Markdown file used:

- [ ] #task I am a Tasks task
    - I am a nested list item
    - [ ] I am a nested **NON**-Tasks task
        - I am a nested list item
        - [ ] #task And I am a nested Tasks task
            - I am a nested list item
    - [ ] #task And I am a nested Tasks task
        - [ ] I am a nested **NON**-Tasks task
- [ ] I am **NOT** a Tasks task

Oh, I realised this only handled the styling based on the presence or absence of the Global Filter, and not on the status symbol.

I don’t have any more time to spend on this.

I won't be able to fix it myself, for sure 😅 but if i find a solution elsewher, I'll report back.
Meanwhile hopefully someone else will see this post, and solve the puzzle...🙂
