How to query and filter a recurrent task to show only in the day it will occur?

Hello everyone, I'm sorry if this information is already available. I haven't found this in any part of the documentation, neither previous discussions. Is it possible? I have tryied filtering with due, scheduled and happens and it did not work.

Specifically:

1. Paste in an example recurring task, as text
2. Paste in the query you tried, as text.

I’m trying to create a query in my daily note that shows me tasks (not done) from active projects (filtered by folder path). I want to exclude tasks with scheduled dates — unless they are scheduled for today.

Additionally, for recurring tasks, I only want to see the ones that are actually due today.

I haven’t found a keyword for recurrence filtering in a query, so I tried:

(no happens date) OR (happens today)
(no due date) OR (due today)

Here’s the query I’m currently testing:

(no happens date) OR (happens today)
path includes b-projetos
(no scheduled date) OR (scheduled today)
not done
group by priority

But it doesn’t seem to be working as expected for recurring tasks. There is a recurrent task that is supposed to happen every Saturday, so it shouldn't be showing in a Friday, and it is.
Any ideas or suggestions? Thanks a lot for your help!

Hi,

There are two possibilities

A problem with your search

Try adding a new line to your searches:

explain

When you see the output of that, it should be clear that happens today means literally happens on the current date.

So when you view that search on Friday 25th April, it will match tasks happening on that date.

Which is not what is usually wanted in daily notes.

A problem with your task

You didn't show me your problem recurring task - but perhaps you forgot to add a Scheduled, Start or Due to it?
