Contribute to translating the Tasks plugin in to non-English languages

I am starting this discussion so that we can have a place for those involved in adding translation/i18n strings to the Tasks plugin.

Topics might include:

• Translator: Hey, I would like to add translations for language X - please could someone set it up for me?
• Developer: Hey, I've just added a new feature to Tasks and there some more strings that need translating, for each supported language

Tasks 7.15.1

I have just released Tasks 7.15.1 - it now selects the language based on the user's selected Language in the Obsidian settings - meaning it now selects the Chinese language for Tasks correctly.

Many thanks to @dangehub for finding and fixing the issue.

That is probably the way forward. I have a list of translation systems to investigate.

If I can find one that supports draft translations, then I can add all @bav2653's translations as drafts - and when-and-if people fluent in the language come along, they can review the translations and then I can accept them.

1. Adding all of those is likely to significantly increase the download speed and start-up time of Tasks for all users, and I don't even know if there are many Tasks users of all of those languages - especially as I have probably only yet supported 10% - 20% of the Tasks code, so the amount of translation text is going to grow massively.

With only a small part of the UI translated, adding 3 languages has increased the main.js size:

• from 602 KB
• to 713 KB

Before Chinese was added, the size was 524 KB.

That is not going to be sustainable.

I may need to add a mechanism to download translations on demand, like Obsidian does - and/or investigate how other plugins do it.

Note to self: see if use of esbuild-compress can reduce the download size.

Searching Obsidian Stats for esbuild-compress, I see that two other plugins use it so far...

Just to let you know that there are 3 new strings in the Tasks settings now, in case you are able to provide translations:

I realised after merging the PR that I didn't add translation placeholders for the text in the new task lines...

Yes, definitely - sorry for not updating you on this earlier.

I have been researching a couple of issues with the current set-up, and making progress:

• Reduce the size of the distributed main.js after i18n addition #3442
  • This is critical - the size of the main.js affects plugin start-up time
  • So I cannot yet translate more areas (or support new languages) until I have fixed this
• Adopt a web platform for easier management of translation files #3443
