I started moving some table and tasks dataview queries to dataviewjs and noticed a marked improvement in performance.
Is there a way to run javascript query and invoke the task plugin ui? maybe a tasksjs query

Oh wait, maybe I misunderstood the question - it is unclear to me what exactly you are wanting to do.

Please check the Tasks API in the docs, and if that doesn't answer your question, give me a real-world example of what you actually want to do.

filter by function task.file.property('kanban-plugin') === null

Is there an alternate faster way to obtain the same result. This is to have the query rendered on my screen including the ability to edit within query rendering itself.
My motivation is that I had some dataview queries and the moment I converted them to dataviewjs they run much faster

So that query should run very fast in Tasks.

The majority of the search time is taken up with rendering, so it will only be slow if it is drawing hundreds of tasks on a not-too-fast computer.

So I am guessing "faster" does not refer to search speed.

If it is referring to search speed, please give me some timing measurements to define "slow".

How many tasks is it drawing?
And how long does it take.

Another thought is, some other plugins, themes and snippets really slow down the rendering of other plugin code blocks, including Tasks.

Finally, for reasons I don't yet understand, Tasks can sometimes get in to a state where it keeps re-running searches from closed notes.

So you could try running the Obsidian Reload load vault without saving command and see if that helps.

You have a way in dataview that you like the speed of...

Or perhaps you are saying you like the dataview search/rendering speed, but it does not invoke the Tasks Edit Task modal?

The inspiration for my request
I noticed that, after loading, some pages would stutter when scrolling to see dataview queries at the bottom. I will see ~8 seconds of delay which is not cool. The stutter will reoccurr on a smaller degree later on. I replaced those query for dataviewjs and stutter is maybe .5s now. The queries don't return lots of rows, one is generally empty and the other is limitted to 5 entries.
So I reasoned dataview = slow, dataviewjs = very fast (and thought that something similar extend to other areas)

What brought me here
I run a tasks query on my daily notes. I previously had a dataview task query and migrated to a tasks plugin query because I love been able to invoke task modal from the query itself. I havent seen the tasks queries take any time - looks immediate
However I was wondering whether it would be a good idea to migrate to something faster as a "good practice" since I use this all day every day. (ahem ... But maybe I am really looking for an excuse to keep learning javascript 😬)

And I don't think this is really a question about the Tasks plugin.

My suspicion is quite a strong NO - and to suggest you focus time on actually doing the tasks on your list that are valuable to you instead.
