Allow additional task status

I would like to suggest a feature to allow additional task statuses:

From @deathau's obsidian-snippets:

This would also allow a simple implementation of basic task priorities and should be filtered and sorted.

The deferred task would be nice information to have when a task's due date is changed.

Thank you @ScottKillen! I also use deathau's snippets, they are linked in #2, where I want to improve the looks of the checkboxes in general. Regarding more statuses, there is also #68, #127, #260, ...

It's something I want, but doesn't have a high priority for me right now. I might have some time in October to take a look at this.

Hello I sorely need this feature too. Is there any update on when this can be available? I am also considering attempting to submit a PR myself, or contribute to an existing PR (if any). My JS game is not that strong though so I am hesitating. Would love to know if any progress has been made on custom statuses. 😃

Hey, thanks for responding. I am thinking of adding DOING to begin with (and maybe more later). I am also using Minimal theme with the custom checkboxes, so the following would render as a task in "doing" status.

- [/] This task is in-progress

Actually I tinkered around with the code base and managed to make this work already! I can create a PR if you like.

Although I only made the query work. I assume you would want the the Create/Edit UI to also support this?

It's especially important that I hear from people who are already using custom checkboxes snippets like SlrVB's and others - as the default choice of characters to use for different status will matter a lot.
