Tasks somehow freezes obsidian, sometimes.

Does anyone else have this issue? I notice my obsidian has been having issues since I updated tasks plugin, not all the time tho but it somehow just freezes for a few min.

Had to break end the video when it started freezing so it doesn't get too long.

Reproducing the behaviour with only Tasks plugin enabled.

Please:

1. Save a copy of your vault's .obsidian/community-plugins.json somewhere outside the vault
2. In Obsidian, disable all plugins except Tasks
3. Restart Obsidian
4. See if you can reproduce the problem.

Afterwards, you can either manually turn back on all the same plugins that are listed in the Debug output above, or if you care

1. Quit Obsidian
2. Copy the .obsidian/community-plugins.json file back in
3. Restart Obsidian

I couldn't reproduce it, although it sometimes doesn't happen after I restart obsidian.

Work out which other plugin is contributing to the problem

As the problem doesn't happen when Tasks is the only plugin turned on, we won't be able to reproduce the problem on our own.

So your next step is to use the Divide and Conquer plugin to systematically work out if there is one other plugin that Tasks is interacting with.

Hi @claremacrae sorry I'm just replying. I haven't been able to recreate the issue again since then. I think its probably because I haven't restarted obsidian in a while? so maybe when I did, it was fine.

This happens to me too. If you open notes with queries (more queries increases the effect) then it gets worse and worse as time goes on. It does not matter if you close the notes later, it will still occur these long tasks. I don't have that many notes or tasks, but I do have somewhat complicated queries I guess? Some regex and many conditions. It happens with only Tasks and Dataview enabled. Will investigate more
