Hi @ackstorm23, thank you for the suggestion. Unless I am missing something, this wouldn’t be always possible. |

Ah, so if the task name itself has a link, you are including that in link as-is? I never do that with a task, so it would never pose a conflict for me. I would suggest that you to discard any links in the task name when rendering the backlink as the link. All you need to do to see the original link(s) would be to click the task which will follow the backlink to take you to the source file the task came from. The problem for me is that the backlink takes too much space, rendering the list messy and often times causing it to wrap around, especially on mobile. But at the same time I don't want to loose the backlink entirely as I may need to go there. I've seen it suggested to render is as an icon instead, which I suppose could work. It just doesn't seem as efficient or aesthetically pleasing for someone who doesn't make task links to begin with. Of course I'm not suggesting you make this the default code but rather an option you can select in the tasks block, as I don't want to break it for others. You could render the pre-existing links as icons to the right of the task, which would only show up if the task had links to begin with, but this might not please the other users either. This would be less messy than rendering the backlink as an icon however, because there will always be a backlink, but not always a pre-existing link in the task itself. |

The backlink text is often quite long and it makes the task list too messy to read, for me. So I use the I have two possible alternatives that would help me out (and the OP as well, I guess):
Hope this helps, thanks! |

Instead of
why not
This still allows you to click/right-click to get to or copy the backlink, but it takes up way less space!
