Recurring tasks in (dataview) code blocks?

Hi - thanks for this wonderful plug in - I use it extensively.
Quick question (and forgive me if I don't know all the correct terminology)

• I use dataview blocks (?) to display tasks from a particular page that are due that day on my daily page.
• I can mark those tasks as done straight from the daily page - and they will mark as done on their original page too!
• However, if they are recurring tasks - the recurrence won't be triggered. So, each time I have to go to the original page to mark it done to trigger the new task.
• Is there any way around this?
• Would be great if it worked as it would save me a lot of time.

I tried looking for similar discussions, but may have the terminology wrong.

Seems to work if I substitute the word today for the date in the template. Is there another way?

I guess that works - it will mean past days have old tasks - but that's not really a problem.

Definitely not manually.
You would update the template you use for your daily notes, and it would mean recreating future daily notes.
The exact syntax depends on what plugin you use to populate your daily note files.

No, you definitely want to get your template to put the correct date in.

Thank you - works great! It shows an error on the template page - but not when I make a daily page.

This is much simpler than the dataviewjs way of doing it.

I would have loved to have found this way initially!

You can use the Global Query in Tasks settings to tell Tasks never to search your templates folder.
