Tasks Comments

One thing I would really love to do is find a way for tasks (especially reoccurring) a place to allow comments to note what has happened along the way. For example if I have a reoccurring task to check the size of a database and I want to keep a history of what I found every time it reoccurs.

I'm thinking another icon that is clickable that leads to a unique note for that task (all of the reoocurances, not just the instance) relative to the note the task is defined that people could put whatever.

Has this ever been broached or does anyone have any thoughts?

I'm a dev and wouldn't mind doing the work.

Read this as a discussion/idea generator unless someone knows of a way to do this.

I would like to ask a favour from you.

Do you have any ideas how I can better convey to users not to add new posts in this section?
I tried renaming it to Ideas: Any New Feature Requests go in Issues please - but I still get a steady trickle of posts each week.

Enough that I have created a boiler-plate reply, which is pasted below the ruler, and I hope will explain why posts are still allowed here...

Can you think of a better name for this section?

As per the title of this section - Ideas: Any New Feature Requests go in Issues please, we don't track feature requests in Discussions any more.

(Bugs have always been tracked in Issues.)

Here are some of the reasons why the need for this change:

I had to leave Ideas Discussions open to allow people to comment on existing ideas, and so we could track their votes, so I renamed the section to try to point people to Ideas instead for new reports.

So I would be grateful if you would go to Issues, click New Issue and submit your request there...
