Using named dates in a Template

I want to add a bunch of tasks to a Template note, and have the tasks due on the date that the note gets created. Ideally I'd do something like

• Task text 📅 {today}
• Task 2 📅 {today}

Any thoughts on how this can be done?

From the docs it seems like your only choice is to put this in the template:

- [ ] Task text 📅 {{date}}
- [ ] Task 2 📅 {{date}}
