All the thoughts and suggestions I have are in the discussion we just had in Discord. |

See also saibotsivad/obsidian-at-people#6, which has been closed, so the workaround found seems to be good enough. Sorry but I don't have the capacity to do anything with this in Tasks. |

My recommended solution is to set Tasks's Auto Suggest setting to require at least one character match before triggering. I have just tested that and confirmed that it prevents the Tasks context menu from popping up after the @ char is typed. (In my vault @ triggers the NL plugin... When I change its trigger character, nothing pops up after @ then...) |

Yeah, I think ordering the plugin loading and setting that minimum character is about as good as we can get without Obsidian supporting a way to "merge" suggestions somehow. Thanks again! |

I made a plugin (at-people) that sort of emulates the
@Name
syntax familiar to chat apps, where if you had a file atPeople/@Rich Hickey.md
you type@R
it would suggestRich Hickey
and then when you hit enter it'll insert a link (with some custom formatting).Problem is, when I type
- [ ] @R
the EditorSuggest popup is the Tasks one, instead of the at-people one.The at-people plugin suggests "Create $TEXT" including spaces, so if you type
@Donald Knuth
it'll suggest "Create Donald Knuth" as an option.I'm willing to be a little hacky here since, as far as I can tell, Obsidian doesn't allow merging suggestions, which is what I'd really like.
Any thoughts or ✨ suggestions ✨ on this?
