Pressing Tab doesn't do anything

When I have the Tasks plugin enabled, and I press Tab on my keyboard to start a nested task, nothing happens. When Tasks plugin is disabled, I can nest tasks as expected. Is this expected behavior?

Oh, yes, hitting Tab does indent tasks.

Confirming that I have read through and searched the above documentation and haven't found an answer. Here's the behavior:

1. type:
   - [ ] task 1
2. press enter to create task 2. the dropdown appears (due date, etc.) for the task 2.
3. press tab to try to nest task 2. Nothing happens. Press escapeor click the mouse to get rid of the dropdown. Now I can nest task 2 using tab.

It appears that the dropdown is blocking usage of tab to nest tasks. Interestingly, the dropdown does not block usage of shift-tab to unnest tasks.

I am getting so many requests for help now, that if I dealt with all of them as they came in, I would never have enough time to improve Tasks, and also, I would struggle with real life.

For this reason, as per the link above, I ask that suspected bugs are logged in Issues, using the template there.

You would be welcome to log this issue there, if you would like it to be investigated at some point.
But if you do so, please try to be a lot more specific in the reproduction than the text above.

Examples of extra detail to include:

• Which mode you are in when editing (Live Preview or Source)
• Where exactly (which character) to place the cursor before hitting tab.
• What exactly your settings/preferences are for the auto-suggest facility in Tasks (a screenshot is fine)

If we cannot exactly reproduce your steps, any investigation is potentially a waste of time.

Hang on a sec, now that your text mentions the drop-down, I presume that you mean the auto-suggest facility.

Searching the existing bug reports for that finds:

• In both Live Preview and Source mode, any time the auto-suggest menu is open, Tab key presses (to indent the line) are ignored #1578

Is this expected behavior?

Turns out, with the extra info, that it is a known bug.
