Hiding tags on a task

I'm trying to categorize my tasks using tags (that I later filter into separate lists), but within the lists having each individual tag on a task show up makes them kind of difficult to read / cluncky to look at. Is there a way to add tags to as task that only show up in the source code but not in the live preview / reader mode? It seems like that's what's happening in this example page in the documentation but I'm not sure how they're getting that result or what might be different on my end.

Hi, that documentation page is only hiding the tags because the screenshots are created with settings to enabled a global filter, and to hide it. So not what you need.

There is an outstanding feature request to request tags on tasks to be hidden, but I'm afraid it has not been implemented yet.
