Could it make sense to provide the option to automatically re-fetch the MatchesFeed whenever the user selects "New match from feed" to ensure that always the latest data are shown?

With the setup you are using it most certainly does. I will ensure that specifying maximumCacheAgeFeeds=0 will do just that.
