It seems like plugin is unmaintained. I've encountered some issues on newer (0.11+) neovim version.

I suggest to migrate to lualine with diagnostics config instead:

Thanks for the suggestion @hinell, that indeed fixed the issue for me on nvim 0.11 (deprecation warning on buf_get_clients). I was already using lualine so the change was easy 👍
