Maximum width

Please add something like:

max-width: 2600px !important;
margin: auto !important;

(And an option to set the maximum width)
On wider monitors like mine with aspect ratio 32:9, the scaling-up mode would clip much off the picture top and bottom.

I believe #60 would be exactly what's necessary to achieve this.
There would be no need for a maximum width of the container or video element, but instead explicitly applying an X, Y, or both axis to the point where one would be satisfied with some black bars.

If you'd like to tackle this issue, I'm open to PR.

Max width will not be added. But custom scaling on X and Y axis is implemented in v3 and already available to public.
