We're working on making matugen the new default: #892

Aside from that, it's possible to use whatever you want to generate your palette, if you write your own Nix code which uses import from derivation to run your generator and convert the output into something which you can pass into stylix.base16Scheme. Or if you don't change your wallpaper often, you could just run matugen by hand and hardcode the colors into your config.
