@jfly and I recently pushed this GitHub PR tracker project over a milestone and we believe it's now useful.

We first addressed the infra team and they suggested that it's too early to tell whether it would be right to host it on official infra. So we suppose the next address is to the nix-community.

Question: may we please have some storage, compute and subdomain to host this public community service on?

I'm fine with running it here for a couple of months as an experiment but only on the condition that it isn't going to be permanent. nixos non-critical is where this sort of stuff should be hosted once it moves past the experiment stage.

I'd have appreciated an up front disclosure that one of the people involved in this project is already on the nixos infra team.

Might be "too early to tell" but hosting it there be a lot simpler, wouldn't it?

I'm sorry if this came across as deceptive. The thought simply didn't cross my mind to bring this up. I'm not acting in any official capacity here: this project predates me joining the infra team.

Yes, I had seen that, I was willing to accept that before I remembered you were a member of the team. I think it is rather absurd to come here looking for hosting.

As I've already said, simpler packaging not using nci., etc. If that isn't acceptable let's not waste any more of each others time on this.

I'll apologise for the tone but frankly I wasn't very inclined to spend time on this to start with and I'm even less inclined now.

Thanks. @mightyiam and I will discuss and do one of the following:

1. Provide a non-nci build path so we can deploy to community infra.
2. Get our own server somewhere so we can collect some usage data and then bother the infra team about this again.

We'll have an answer within 1 week.
