Converting to a discussion, because I have no interest in triaging and fixing Orion related issues, and I want to keep only triaged issues in the "Issues" tab, please see #947, no hard feelings. PRs that clearly fix the problem are welcome. Related or maybe even the same problem: #989 |

I've managed to fix this problem by turning off the "Open links from other apps in Preview" option in Orion. |

When #989 came up, I wasn't having any issues with Orion, but a recent update with Aerospace or Orion spurred much worse problems than were described there. I couldn't command tab away from Orion to other spaces without being immediately snapped back, among other things. Orion and Aerospace seemed to declare war on each other. My workaround was to hide Orion when I needed to go elsewhere. @carbonbasedsoul's solution of turning off "Open links from other apps in Preview", which is under the Browsing tab in Orion settings, fixed the issue for me. And that's weird because the preview was never triggered and there were no links from other applications. Regardless, thanks for the better workaround! |

I just wanted to cross post this here for visibility — the Orion browser seems to have a bunch of issues with Aerospace. I submitted a feature request on their forum to possibly have a way to act as a simple Mac app. Not only would I like that as a feature, but it might fix things with Aerospace.
Still, it could be indicative of a bug in Aerospace, or perhaps some window APIs you'd like to support. The issues I have been consistently facing with Orion are:
The discussion on their board can be found here: https://orionfeedback.org/d/9898-disable-custom-window-behavior
For what it's worth, I have had the occasional perhaps related issue a few times with IINA - the only other app I use that tries to treat every window as a separate app in
⌘ tab. I do not use IINA enough though to really be able to say anything with confidence, it's more of a hunch.Unfortunately, if I just open Orion in a split with another app, navigation between them works fine. However in practice, it consistently fails.
Like I said in the link, I'm not excepting any magic :) both such amazing products, and I can't imagine this crossover being high on anyone's priority list.
