require a seperate profile setup after authentication

hello i currently have a simple next js application setup using authjs for authentication using mainly oauth.

I want to make it so that a user has to setup a application specific profile after logging in for the first time before being able to access the rest of my application.

what would be the best way to implement this?
(my apologies if this is a stupid question)
