OktaProvider query string parameters being set by default

I'm trying to remove the scope=openid query param from my authorization request url to Okta from a next.js application which uses next-auth's built in OktaProvider. I am wondering if there is a way to do this. I've tried creating a custom provider with no luck as well.

I should add for clarity that I want to remove the scope= query parameter entirely.
