GetSession times out most of the time, when I call it in an API route

Like the title says, getSession seems to timeout and never return anything most of the time when I call it from an API endpoint. It seems to always work when I call it from the frontend or hit the /api/auth/session endpoint directly. I'm wondering if something is wrong with my configuration. Has anyone else had this issue?
