Enhancement: Extra field devices

Hello,

Is it possible that in a future release a extra (maybe user definable) field can be added next to the already existing comment field?
We now use quite often use the comment field to add data to a device which we cannot add to the other fields.

But for example, a router can have different functions, but all use the same driver, so for example we would like to add network service as custom field, so we can differentiate the devices even better.

Ofcourse we can still use the comment field, but we rather use that field for temporarily comments such as "migrated dd/mm/yy"
