Prettier/Custom Display of (user)names

Hey, i kinda want to test the waters before doing a feature request to see what others think about it:

Especially in large, historically grown environments you have kind of cryptic, nondescriptive usernames.
I would propose to use the first and last names whenever possible, or even allow a custom query string to display more information (e.g. ou).

Example:
If my username is m31337 instead of displaying that in every changelog and related fields it rather shows "Martin Lastname" or even "Martin Lastname, [Department(ou-attribute from ldap)]", while still working with my username in the background

What do you think about this idea?
