It occurred to me today while planning an install into an already full rack that the power availability might be more constrained by availability of outlets on a PDU than the load - especially when we aren't documenting load so at present all power graphs are zero and their presence is adding no value.
Before I raise a formal FR, would anyone else like to see power availability reported in this way? I'm wondering whether it's possible to construct an efficient query that returns total power outlets in a rack and total power outlets without a connected cable in a rack? Dividing one by the other should give us a simple percentage of used power outlets that could be graphed on the racks list instead of watts.
I get that available power outlets may not be a true representation of available power in a rack, but equally a rack with many under-utilised devices may be consuming a small amount of power, but all the outlets may be connected!
