Journal entries I feel are a bit of a hidden gem in NetBox. It's the perfect place to communicate warnings, dangers, strange smells from racks, and that one switch that everyone has that definitely needs replacing but we're all pretending not to notice.
But here's the problem: no-one sees them.
They're tucked away on a separate tab, quietly waiting for someone to care enough to click, or even notice that new entries exist. But we don't. We forget. And suddenly the "documented" fire risk is only rediscovered when the rack is actively on fire.
So, I'd like to make a propsal:
Add visual cues on the object views: badges, icons, old-school html <scroll> tags - something that screams "Hey, you might want to take a look here of this"
"Must-Read" journal entries for objects - like "Read-Receipt" but for infrastructure guilt. Of course, this might need to have some changes made in terms of usability - e.g. read, but not updated, journal-entries need not reoccur or need to be re-read every time you open the object.
NetBox is the source of truth, but truth isn't very useful if it's slightly buried under a tab no-one opens or even notices.
Help us hear the journal-entries fall in the woods.
