Switch base MAC address documenting

How are you all handling documenting the "base" MAC address of a switch?

For instance, on a cisco switch that has 48 ports, it will have at the minimum 49 MAC addresses. 1 MAC for each interface and then 1 MAC that is of the switch itself. How are you documenting that? A custom field or some other clever way?

I don't really have a use case but it would be nice to be able to document the base MAC of a switch and I can't see how to do that when MACs need to be tied to an interface.

Im not sure this is good or correct but solved it for all our switches by create a virtual interface called management and added ip address and mac address on that interface ( especially for switches that dont have a dedicated management interface )
then we used this as Out-of-band IP
