Hi everyone,
Is there a sensible way to maintain data centres that are distributed across several locations? Yes, you maintain a site, which can then be assigned to a location, region and site group via multiple choices of locations.
However, we currently have the problem of how to sensibly assign a location to a vm. It is not possible to identify exactly where in the data centre network the VM is actively running, so if one data centre has problems, the VM is automatically moved to the other data centre.
My question is therefore, how should VMs that are in a data centre network be stored in a meaningful way, as the location alone is not meaningful.
Wouldn't it make sense to be able to maintain a site group or a location for clusters, which reflects the data centre network of the VM cluster?
Of course, you can then use the cluster definition to access the devices that have maintained the location with the site for the vm. But is that what you want, that you can find out via the path and wouldn't it also make sense to be able to maintain site groups for devices?
