Modeling Hard Drive Bays With Netbox 4.3+

Netbox 4.3 added module type profiles, including defaults of Hard Drive and Memory.

I have multiple Synology NAS' that I've moved to modeling HDD bays as module bays, so I easily know what is used where. I haven't yet modelled memory slots as module bays but could see myself doing so for some devices where I want to know empty slots.

I'm wondering if device types like Synology should still be submitted without HDD bays or if the device type supports the default 4.3+ module profiles that come out of the box, then include those module bays.

We would probably need to change all Devices to adapt to the correct Module Bays. Previously module bays have been removed, because it was unclear how it would be implemented in Netbox.

Hi Both,
How is it being modeled in the new 4.3? How are they determining between standard module-bays and storage module-bays? or is the difference determined based off the actual module?

Just thinking if there is any logic that need to be built into this repo to support them and keep everything standardised, Once that has been done then yes new and current devices would be able to have storage being modeled within this repo.

There are predefined Profiles for the Modules.
