Error "png could not be generated"

Hi,
I am trying to run the gene_gene.sh example provided on the neper website. I am getting the error

Error  :     > File `gene_gene_3.png' could not be generated!
gene_gene.sh: line 12:  6309 Aborted                 (core dumped) $NEPER -V gene_gene_3.tess $C -showedge "polynb>1" -cameraangle 9 -print gene_gene_3

I then ran the make test to find most of the V_* tests fail. Is this related to some missing dependency?

I am running Ubuntu 16.04 and have installed the following libraries, libnlopt-dev, libgsl-dev, libgmsh-dev and my cmake is cofigured as,

You must install povray.
