Can we use Jupyter collaboration and Jupytext to collaborate on a text notebook

@mwouts Thanks for this but I cannot get a standalone py-percent file to work with jupytext-collaboration. It simply does not sync between two users. For ipynb-files it works fine. Is there anything special I have to do for .py-files?

Hi @bilke, thanks for reaching out! I have not tested that feature personally yet, but I can have a look.

Can you confirm that you are trying to do a collaborative edit on a "text notebook" ? Or are you using the editor ?

If you are using the notebook editor, can you confirm which of "Notebook" or "Jupytext Notebook" you use to open the document, assuming you open it with a right click (it might be worth testing both).

Right-clicking notebook, Open With:

• Notebook – does not work
• Editor – works as expected
• Jupytext Notebook – does not work

Could you consider using paired notebooks (and collaborate on the ipynb file) until we get this fixed ?

Yes of course, using paired notebooks is an option. But as all our notebooks in our project gallery (https://www.opengeosys.org/docs/benchmarks/) are defined as Jupytext py-percent files it would be cool to directly use them!
