Links from bsky.app should automatically create dedicated Threads, living alongside the regular threads of a channel.

Roomy doesn’t have a firehose timeline. It will only show whichever Bluesky threads that have been shared as links in a Channel.

1. someone shares bsky.app link in #general chat
2. That bsky thread now is also viewable as a thread within the #general Threads-view. (maybe also imported). Discoverable along side the native threads (will need contextual tweaking)
3. The full bsky thread can be viewed and interacted with seamlessly through the Roomy interface, but it’ll be a very Reddit-like UI.
4. The thread can also be interacted via a separate Roomy chat (unspecced atm), for those who wanna discuss the thread without publicly commenting on it on bluesky.

Making it

There’s already bluesky-embed, but I think we wanna go one level deeper here.

@zeucapua already made myb using the same stack as Roomy (Svelte); we can probably refit a lot of those features into Roomy, starting with just the Threads view:

We’d just want to forumize it a bit. Better threading support is coming to mainline bsky as well.

I do have some ideas for a more linearized UI, but starting with the reddit/HN/Lemmy convention is a very good starting point.
