Hello! Q&A, suggestions, and other feedback are welcome here. This is a hobby project (I'm kinda retired but love coding). And my ancient IMSAI 8080 from my teen years is a brick today. Since next year is the 8080A CPU's 50th birthday, I'm trying to implement a PC emulator and run some assembler and tiny basic programs on it. Others have done this here and there (such as https://www.autometer.de/unix4fun/z80pack/ and http://altair32.classiccmp.org/ ), with pretty impressive results (and occasional "why doesn't this work" issues on Windows). I felt like making my own. I'm coding more for clarity than performance right now, and will wait and see what the effective speed is before committing significant time to speed-up.
