Nova DSO Tracker v2.7.0 is Here! Enhanced Data Views & Smarter Features!
This significant update brings a more organized interface, richer information for your deep-sky objects, and several under-the-hood improvements to make your astrophotography planning even better.
What's New in Version 2.7.0:
New "Properties" Tab: The main data table has been reorganized! Alongside the familiar content that is now organized in the "Position" tab, you'll find a new "Properties" tab. This dedicated view displays key physical characteristics of your deep-sky objects, including:
These fields are now filterable and sortable, giving you more power to find the perfect targets for your imaging sessions. You can even filter for multiple types at once (e.g., "PN, SNR")!
** Improved Data for Your Objects:** The backend data fetcher has been enhanced to more reliably retrieve these important object properties. While the data comes from various astronomical catalogs (SIMBAD, VizieR) and a fallback to Stellarium, ongoing work aims to make this even more comprehensive.
Better Configuration Experience:
UI & UX Refinements:
Your configuration data, including these new fields, continues to be stored locally in your
config_*.yamlfile.I'm passionate about making Nova DSO Tracker the best tool it can be. Your feedback is invaluable – please let me know your thoughts on these new features!
Clear skies and happy imaging!
